Pennant Melangell
A print of Santes Melangell, patron saint of hares, and her church in Y Berwyn.
She was said to be an Irish princess who fled to Cymru to escape an arranged marriage and lived the life of an ascetic. When Brochwel, prince of Powys' hunting dogs were chasing a hare, she hid it in her cloak. They were encouraged to attack, but couldn't, and the huntsman's horn became stuck to his lip. Brochwel was so impressed with this, he gave her the land of the valley where Pennant Melangell stands to this day.
